We received a pretty interesting review of our JunkMonkey urban bag from a new friend from Sitiawan, Malaysia. Big thanks to Jesslyn for the kind kind words of encouragement.

Subject: Review (so sorry to all overseas future customers as I have used our typical Malaysian dialect in this review as I am typing what comes into my mind to give a really honest opinion on Greenroom136’s products)
Item (s): 1x Large Junk Monkey and 1x Scribble Book Travel

My Rantings:
How did I come to know of Greenroom136? The price, of course! When my friend first introduced this brand to me, I thought she was insane (I actually asked her whether “scam ah?”), paying so much for a locally made bag, so I just dismissed her idea… gila seng…

A few months later, another friend of mine started ranting about this really good looking bag with really good features and unsurpassable quality and while he was scrolling his thumb across his smartphone screen, the Greenroom136 brand, again, pops up! OH MY GOODNESS, THESE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY! KOYAK LA MY DOMPET! At first, I was really skeptical about the build of the bag and many other things but after I went through Greenroom136’s website (many tabs were opened for this), reading everything they had to offer (I contributed at least 10 views to the Youtube video), I was HOOKED and this was where my Greenroom136 experience began…

I believe everything happens for a reason and for me to finally discover and rediscover Greenroom136, it couldn’t have been a better timing than now. I love backpacking and travelling light (or heavy, in some cases) but because I have a dislocated right shoulder, I am a bit at a disadvantage when carrying my backpacks. So, I have been searching for the perfect messenger bag that can actually take my rough usage and make it through the journey.

Perusing the Greenroom136 website, I had tons of questions in my mind and I had to throw them somewhere, where else a better place than to Greenroom136 themselves! I had a great time chatting with Greenroom136 on Facebook and they actually layan me all the way, so fun! Confusion only arise when I wanted to make my own Wildcard Junk Monkey (I wanted my own personal choice of colours) and I also wanted a custom made Scribble Book Travel (eh, sibuk la this customer). So, it took us a week or so to actually confirm the orders via email (to make it more official), then I made payment and I refreshed my inbox, and refreshed, and refreshed, waiting for the tracking number to arrive. Two days later, Mr. Nationwide came knocking on my door…. But then I was already on my way out for lunch… So, after lunch, I had to curi tulang to open and test out my BRAND NEW BAG!

Isn’t it so PRETTY???

I immediately hugged it! and nearly fainted from the brand-new-smell, was dizzy awhile then…
The material was so thick, the bag could stand on its own! Good to have a bag with its own backbone! Took out the book pouch and I love the fact that Greenroom136 actually used this really soft material so that our laptop shiny cases would not be scratched under any circumstances.

Taking the pouch to the test! I unplugged my heavy-duty 4kg laptop, and placed it in….. Almost cannot strap it up, LUCKY! OBJECTIVE ACHIEVED! Why la my laptop so huge…

Then, I placed the laptop and pouch into the bag, and VOILA! Looks so good and snuggly!

p/s: the bag has already been loaded with my other daily items and yet, still so much space!

Test-carried the bag around a few times and I found out that it is easier to adjust the quick strap while sitting down if I am carrying a heavy load.

Moving on to my custom colored Scribble Book Travel! My first choice of colour was, of course, the Gandalf Grey duck wax canvas but sadly, was not in stock. Lucky me, they had another of my favourite colour, OLIVE GREEN!

NO REGRETS HERE, take a gander…

So SEXY! And it is built so strong that nothing budged when I tried ripping it with my bare hands, KUDOS Greenroom136!
I first filled the zipper pocket with all my loose papers such as fancy cards, photos, bills, grocery list, homemade dog food recipes….

Then came the tough part (on my side though…) as previously I was using a 6 ring binder planner and it finally started cracking at the spine, so I am still figuring out a way to incorporate the 6 ring binder into this Scribble Book. So, for now, it will just be like this, a nice high stacked olive green hamburger.

Still looks good doesn’t it? and it still fits into the front easy to access zippered compartment of my Junk Monkey.

Conclusion:

Do I like my new Greenroom136 stuff? No, I don’t like them, I LOVE THEM!

Price wise? It is a bit on the steeper side but taking into consideration that it is handmade locally and the quality is there, I have no regrets saving up for these two.

Quality? They are tough, I really tried ripping them apart, but nothing happened… Stitches are really good and perfect.

Would I recommend it? DEFINITELY! To those out there who are really interested to get one, just do it, you will not regret it. To those out there who is skeptical about the product, go visit their store and test them out. You will buy one or two or ten…

Thank you Greenroom136 for taking the time and effort to make my perfect travel companion and for the extra surprise gift which I am now using as my cable carrier 
